Audrey Rosaria Palma, Owner (She/her)

Audrey Rosaria Palma is a Troy-based stylist known for her off-beat aesthetic and nonconformist perspective. Her experiences in traditional salons ultimately led her to embrace natural hair textures, curly hair, and easy-to-manage styles that honor individuality rather than conformity.

Trained at the Paul Mitchell School in Schenectady in 2010, Audrey went on to work as an educator for Kemon USA, where she deepened her understanding of color, formulation, and ongoing education. She believes learning never ends—and that hair is an ever-evolving medium. Today, her work is rooted in non-toxic hair color and she is highly experienced in the art of custom henna blending.

When Not at the Salon

You’ll often find Audrey with her pup, Shadow—visiting nearby towns in search of the best coffee shops, wandering wooded trails, or getting lost in fantasy and mythology. She loves estate sales and flea markets, always on the hunt for hidden treasures.

Alongside creating hair, Audrey also crafts all-natural, plant-based blended perfumes—a practice she’s been immersed in since the very beginning of her career.

Dee Matthews, Assistant Hair Stylist (She/her)

Dee graduated from the Paul Mitchell School in 2021 with a clear intention: to never compromise her values when it comes to toxic or harmful chemicals. She joined AR Salon shortly after and has spent the last two years working closely under Audrey, gaining hands-on experience in cutting and color with a strong emphasis on curly hair.

Dee is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where clients can simply be themselves. Her goal isn’t to make people “beautiful,” but to help them recognize the beauty that already exists.

Mitchell Baker, Assistant Hair Stylist (He/him)

Mitchell graduated from the Paul Mitchell School in 2023 with a focus on becoming a texture specialist, particularly in curly cuts and thoughtful color placement. He is committed to creating a positive, affirming experience for every client—especially those who feel their hair type has been overlooked or misunderstood in the past.
